 What is Advantage® II for Cats?

Active Ingredients: Imidacloprid 9.1%, Pyriproxyfen 0.46%.

Advantage® II for cats is a monthly topical comprehensive flea prevention and treatment for cats that kills fleas through contact so they don’t have to bite your cat to die. 

Advantage® II is an easy-to-apply topical that kills fleas through contact so that they don't have to bite your pet to die. Advantage® II kills fleas rapidly — within 12 hours of initial application — and is waterproof after 24 hours.

Advantage® II effectively treats existing flea infestations and prevents further infestations by killing adult fleas, flea larvae and flea eggs to break the flea life cycle. Reinfesting fleas are killed within 2 hours, and protection against further flea infestation lasts for up to a month. For use on cats and kittens 8 weeks of age and older, weighing 2 lbs. or more.

How to apply Advantage® II for Cats?

Applying Advantage® II for cats flea control to your feline friend is easy and convenient. Before applying, check the weight range and minimum age on the package to choose the appropriate product for your cat.

  1. Remove the tube from packaging and open it by putting the cap on the other end and twisting to break the seal.
  2. Part the hair where the cat's head and neck come together (base of the skull) and place the tip of the tube on the skin, gently squeezing to expel the entire solution out onto the skin.
  3. Lift the tube away from their skin, while maintaining pressure on the tube to make sure the product has all been squeezed out.

How long does Advantage® II for Cats take to work?

Advantage® II for cats kills fleas within 12 hours of application.

How to store and dispose of Advantage® II for Cats?

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal of Advantage® II.

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from freezing. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Disposal and Container Handling: Non-refillable container. If empty: Do not reuse this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Side Effects:

Side effects, although very rare, may include signs of skin irritation such as redness, scratching or other signs of discomfort. Gastrointestinal signs such as hypersalivation, vomiting or diarrhea have also been reported. Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using ANY pesticide product for cats. 

Restrictions:

Use only on cats or kittens 8 weeks and older. Do not apply to cats or kittens weighing less than 2 lbs. Do not use on other animals. Do not apply more than 1 tube per treatment, even for large cats. Hazards to humans: Harmful if swallowed. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Keep out of reach of children; do not have contact or allow children to have contact with treated area until completely dry. Do not contaminate feed or food.
